  • How does chiropractic care relieve pain?
Pain occurs 90% of the time due to pressure on your spinal nerves. This is in part due to restrictions and dysfunction of the spine. When you let this build up for too long inflammation and degeneration starts to kick in allowing the pressure to build up on your nerves, which can get worse over time. Chiropractic helps by removing that nerve interference through restoring the motion in the spine allowing for better communication from the brain to the rest of your body. This in turn leads to increased mobility and less inflammation which results in less pain.
  • How can Chiropractic care help with my headaches?
Headaches can be caused by a lot of things like diet, seasonal allergies, sinuses, or hormonal changes. From what our profession has learned over the years is that 80% of the time headaches are caused because of the nerves in the upper part of our neck which can be related to posture and loss of curvature in the cervical spine. This comes from looking down at our phones too much or on a computer all hours of the day. What corrective chiropractic care does is help relieve the pressure off the nerves through cervical adjustments and restore the curve through rehabilitation leading to longer lasting relief and less headaches. Again, this process takes some time but can lead to better quality of life without headaches.
  • How do I book my first appointment?
You can go to our About Us page and learn a little bit about the docs and can choose which doctor you want to book with for your initial consultation. Starting November 4th we are currently only open on Mondays from 9am to 6pm, this will change starting January 13th when we will be open Monday-Fridays.
  • If I am not in pain, do I need to keep getting adjusted?
Yes. A lot of people like to think of chiropractic care for only when they are in pain, but we also focus on preventing pain as well. The only way to do that is through regular chiropractic care. A little saying we like to tell people is, "what gets you better, keeps you better." So, by maintaining the mobility and curves in your spine through spinal adjustments, that is the best way to make sure your pain and discomfort doesn't come back, and we don't start back at square one again. Whether you do once a week, every other week, or even once a month all depends on your preference and your lifestyle, but some chiropractic care is better than no chiropractic care.
  • What is corrective care and why do I need more than one adjustment?
Most issues derive from our everyday lives. Whether we sit at a desk all day, or work construction from sunup to sundown, or take care of and play with our children all hours of the day. All of this leads to poor posture and eventually leads to pain and discomfort. Corrective chiropractic care is when we not only adjust the spine to help get you out of pain, but we also pair it with therapeutic rehabilitation in and outside of the office. We do so to help stabilize the spine and correct the problem that has been causing you pain in the first place, rather than just treat the symptoms. In most cases, yes you need more than one adjustment. Most people have let these issues build up for years and it takes multiple adjustments to re-train your spine, but that is why we pair it with rehabilitation to help speed up the healing process.
  • How can chiropractic care help with extremity complaints?
In our office we adjust more than just the spine, we adjust the extremities as well, meaning your arms and legs. Again, this all depends on your complaint and if we deem it necessary. If you have had shoulder, hip, or knee replacements it does make it a little more difficult but not impossible to treat. Can you have knee or hip pain without lower back pain? Of course, but one eventually leads to the other thanks to our bodies ability to compensate for pain, which leads to more pain. So, if you have knee pain you might as well get your lower back checked out and vice versa, that is why we like to check everything. Better safe than sorry.
  • How are adjustments different for children?
This all depends on the age of the child because we can adjust almost everyone starting at birth. When it comes to an infant compared to an adult, a baby requires significantly less force due to bone development at that age. When you get your child adjusted, you will notice we use very minimal pressure as mentioned earlier as well as specialized techniques. You also won't notice as many audibles or cavitations with infant adjustments due to the pressure applied. Chiropractic care is good for just about anyone, but especially for colicky babies, ear infections, trouble feeding, and most importantly while they are going through their progressions with crawling and walking.
  • Can I get adjusted with hip, shoulder, or knee replacements?
Yes. We use a variety of techniques to adjust, and we work around areas that have been messed around with surgically. This is an important question we ask during our consultations and intake forms to make sure we get the proper information. Although it does slow down the healing process a little bit for treatment, it is still possible to help with your pain and discomfort just like anybody else.
  • Do you take X-rays or require imaging?
No, we do not take x-rays, and we don't require imaging. Now, if you want to bring previous x-rays you have had done recently or ones taken in the past you can, but everybody's spine changes so what it looks like now can be a lot different than what it looked like before. What we do though is make sure we ask the right questions through our consultation and intake forms and perform the proper examinations to correctly diagnose what is wrong, and if we can help. What we look for are red flags, and if we do spot any of those during that process, we will move forward with imaging before we start any sort of treatment.
